Check your glass and window-film instructions
Before you choose a cleaner, check your car's glass-care instructions. If a window has film, follow that film maker's or installer's directions too. 3M's care card for its automotive window film calls for a soft, nonabrasive cloth, clean water, and a pH-neutral, nonabrasive cleaner. Its directions are for 3M film, so use the directions for the film on your car.
New film needs time to bond. Wait until your film maker or installer says it is ready to clean. If you do not know what film you have or when it was installed, ask before cleaning it.
Keep glass cleaner off the dashboard
Use a nonabrasive glass cleaner that suits the surface, and follow its label. Ford's window-care instructions say to keep glass cleaner off the dashboard and door panels and wipe up overspray right away.
Put cleaner on a folded towel to control where it goes, as Dr. Beasley's window-cleaning guide suggests. Keep spray away from screens and other cabin surfaces.
Clean the glass, then use a fresh towel
Use one clean, soft towel for the first wipe. Reach the corners and edges, then wipe across the glass. Fold the towel to a clean side as you work. Dr. Beasley's guide recommends a second, clean glass towel for the final wipe. That finishing pass can pick up cleaner left behind by the first towel; a wet or dirty towel may spread it into smears.
Check for haze before you drive
While the car is parked, look through the windshield and side windows from more than one angle. Check the corners and both sides of the glass so you can tell where any haze remains. If the mark seems to be damage or you are unsure what is on the glass or film, stop scrubbing and ask a glass or film professional. Do not keep trying stronger chemicals or abrasive tools.
Ask RANA when the cabin needs more cleaning
RANA's Interior Detail Reset includes interior glass cleaning along with vacuuming, seat shampoo and extraction, washed carpets and mats, cleaned cabin surfaces, and odor removal. Tell us what you see on the glass and what else needs attention when you request the service. Glass or window-film repair is outside this cleaning service.
For everyday care beyond the windows, see how to keep your car interior clean between details.
Request an interior detail
Book Your Detail to send your vehicle, address, and preferred week, day, and arrival window. RANA will confirm your ZIP code, worksite access, property permission, water and power, and timing before a visit. The form sends a request; it does not reserve an appointment. See the mobile visit checklist for what to have ready.
If there is no hose or outlet at your parking spot, call to ask whether a Fairfax work location can be arranged. RANA will confirm that option before you go there.
