A fresh start for your car
Just Bought a Used Car? Start With What Needs Cleaning
A used car has had a life before you. Start with the seats, floors, touchpoints, and any odor you notice. If the outside needs attention too, clean both. Detailing can make it feel fresher without pretending the car is new.

The first look
Where should you start?
Remove anything left by the previous owner and check the seats, carpets, mats, cupholders, console, doors, pedals, and interior glass. Notice whether the cabin has a smell and whether it seems to come from a spill or another source. Then look at the outside: wheels, trim, glass, and road grime. This quick check helps you buy the cleaning the car actually needs.
Cleaning is separate from checking a used car's condition. If you are concerned about a mechanical fault or hidden damage, ask a qualified mechanic; a detail does not inspect or repair the car. Consumer Reports recommends a pre-purchase inspection for used-car condition.
Inside first
What can an interior detail do?
RANA's $120 Interior Detail Reset includes a full vacuum, seat shampoo and extraction, washed carpets and mats, cleaning of the dash, console, cupholders, doors, pedals, and interior glass, appropriate steam cleaning, and odor removal. That is a practical choice when the previous owner's daily use is what you notice most.
Tell us about a stubborn stain or smell when you request the detail. Cleaning can help, but old staining, material wear, and odors whose source remains may not disappear completely. This service is not a sanitation or restoration guarantee.
If the outside needs work too
When should you choose a full detail?
Choose the $180 Full Factory Detail Reset when the cabin needs the inside work above and the exterior needs a foam bath and hand wash, wheel and tire cleaning, trim, exterior glass, and bug/tar/iron removal. If the outside already looks good, the interior-only service is the simpler choice. Neither one includes scratch repair or paint correction.
For a lighter cleaning plan, Consumer Reports explains how to clean common interior surfaces. Its DIY advice is general; RANA's exact work is the menu described here.
