How to Compare Car Detailing Quotes
To compare car detailing quotes, check the work included, listed extras, where the detail can happen, and when a visit is confirmed. RANA's menu below is one example you can use to ask clearer questions.
Start with the work
What work does each car detailing quote include?
Ask whether the quote covers the inside, the outside, or both. For an interior detail, check the seats, carpets, mats, and touchpoints. For an exterior detail, check the wash, wheels, tires, trim, and glass. You can compare RANA's exact interior, exterior, and full-detail lists.
Do not assume that “interior detail” always means seat shampoo and extraction. The International Detailing Association's interior-work survey lists shampoo and extraction separately from its basic maintenance example. Ask each provider what its own quote includes.
Check the extras
Which vehicle or service extras change a car detailing quote?
Check the listed charges for your vehicle and any extra work you want. On RANA's menu, a full-size SUV or van is $20 extra, and engine-bay cleaning is a $20 add-on. These are RANA's listed amounts, so check another provider's terms on its own quote.
Check the worksite
Can the detail happen where your car is parked?
For a mobile detail, give the address and describe the parking spot. At a house or apartment, RANA prefers to work beside the parked car with access to a water hose and power outlet. Property permission and the setup need to be checked for your request. If those utilities are unavailable, ask about bringing the car to RANA's Fairfax work location by arrangement; it is not a walk-in visit.
Check the timing
Does a detailing quote reserve a time?
No time is reserved by RANA's request form. You choose a preferred week, eligible day, and arrival window, then RANA follows up to confirm the visit. You can ask any provider when its proposed time becomes an appointment. RANA estimates about two hours for an interior detail, usually less than an hour for exterior, and about two and a half to three hours for both. Vehicle size and condition can change the time, so confirm it for your car.
