Plan your exterior detail
Exterior Car Detailing: Time, Weather and Parking
RANA's exterior detail usually takes less than one hour. Your car's size, its condition, and the visit details can change that estimate. Confirm the time and weather before you plan your day.

How long does an exterior car detail take?
Usually less than one hour for the work, though a larger car or one that needs more cleaning can take longer. RANA's Exterior Detail Reset includes a foam hand wash, wheels, tires, trim, exterior glass, bug, tar and iron removal, and safe drying. The service page has the full scope and price.
A preferred arrival window is when you'd like RANA to arrive. It isn't a promised start or finish time. For example, if you can leave your car parked for one hour but need to drive away right after, don't assume the requested arrival window will fit. Tell RANA your departure time and confirm both the visit and the work estimate first.
What weather works for a mobile exterior detail?
RANA does not do exterior details in snow or freezing conditions. Share the day and parking place you want, and RANA will confirm whether the weather works for that visit. If rain is a concern, call about your plans instead of assuming the visit will go ahead or be canceled.
Clear skies alone don't settle it. Ford's general exterior-care guidance advises against washing a car when surfaces are hot to the touch or in strong, direct sunlight. Check your own car's manual, too. If you hear thunder, the National Weather Service says to go indoors; no place outside is safe during a thunderstorm. Ask RANA to confirm the date and worksite conditions.
What parking, water and power does an exterior detail need?
RANA needs room to work beside the parked car, plus a hose and an outlet at the site. Tell RANA your address and ZIP code, where the car will be parked, and how to reach it. Check property rules and get permission when required. RANA will confirm coverage and access for your location.
If you park in a shared lot, read the apartment and condo parking guide. The mobile visit checklist covers what to have ready. If you don't have a hose or outlet, call to ask whether bringing your car to a Fairfax location by arrangement could work. Confirm that option before driving there.
Request an exterior detail and confirm the visit
Book Your Detail to send your car, address, contact details and preferred week, day and arrival window. Include any exterior concerns or parking details. RANA will follow up to confirm the visit. Sending the form does not reserve a time.
If you have a firm departure time, a weather question or a setup issue, call RANA before you plan around the visit.
